David Diley joins White Shark Cafe’s Skyler Thomas to talk about his experience making the hit film, ‘Of Shark and Man’.
David is a multi-award-winning filmmaker, underwater cinematographer, and digital colorist based in the north of England. He has worked on a wide range of projects, including independent films, TV shows, and commercials. He is best known for his multi-award-winning feature documentary, “Of Shark and Man.”
The documentary is a visually stunning tribute to Australian marine conservationist Valerie Taylor, whose fearless underwater photography, which was featured in the film “Jaws,” helped to expand human understanding of sharks. The documentary tells the story of Taylor’s life and work, and it is a powerful reminder of the importance of protecting these amazing creatures and the oceans they inhabit.
Of Shark and Man was a critical and commercial success, winning numerous awards, including the Grand Jury Prize at the Sundance Film Festival.
David has since gone on to work on severalother projects, including the TV show “Deadliest Catch” which was nominated for an Emmy, and a commercial for the Ford Mustang which won a Clio. He is currently working on his next feature film.
